Generally speaking gazebos are structures that provide a shade from the sun and rain and a place to relax. They have a canopy, which is the material used to cover the frame and legs which support it whilst they can also have solid walls and curtains. Unlike any conventional gazebo, pop up gazebos are basically a portable version of a regular gazebo which offer advantages over it. Because of that they are used in different environments and for different purposes.
Benefits & Use
A heavy duty pop up gazebo is used for food and drink catering, by market traders, for motorsports and so on. This is because heavy duty gazebos make use of robust screws and a durable hexagonal framework with a high-quality fabric which is often times waterproof. A high quality heavy duty gazebo also has powder-coated steel frames and PVC lined polyester canopy.
How to Set Up and Dismantle
Set Up
Once you unpack the gazebo take the frame and place it where you want to set up your gazebo. You will require two people for the set up, one on each end of the closed metal frame. Grip both ends of the metal frame and walk backwards so you have it stretched out about ¾ of the way. After that place the cover carefully over the frame so its spread out evenly over the whole surface.
Then just lift the frame holding it by the lower part of the truss bars and start slowly walking back again until you have the frame fully opened. To hold it in place make sure you put the roof Velcro straps. Lock the gazebo slider bracket whilst holding the frame with one hand and lifting the slider up into place with the other until it locks and then pull the canopy down.
Pull down the canopy, lift each leg and then slowly pull the inner leg until you hear it pop into place. Large pop-up heavy duty gazebos will require a second person in order to fully open them. Do the same thing with each leg and then adjust the height of the gazebo. To adjust the height of a heavy duty gazebo to a desired level, use the pull pin adjuster. You can also anchor the gazebo to make it more stable.
Dismantle
Whilst holding one outer leg pull the pin adjuster and then slowly lower the frame until you have the leg fully retracted - do the same thing for each leg. Afterwards unlock the slider bracket and carefully pull it down until you have it free from its locked position. With the help of your mate, gently push the metal frame inwards from the outer frame which will allow you to fold the frame and close it. Once you've done that fold the frame completely whilst making sure the cover is not caught up between the crossbars.
What to Look For
Material
The material of the canopy and the frame are going to be probably the two most important factors when it comes to durability and protection. A heavy duty gazebo canopy is usually made of polyester or polyethylene but you can find others with a canvas canopy or a vinyl coated one. Polyethylene is a waterproof and economical material and polyester is waterproof too but it is of higher quality than polyethylene. The most affordable gazebos will use vinyl or plastic for their canopies and others may use canvas treated with a waterproof coating.
The frame can be made from aluminium, powder-coated steel and wrought iron. Aluminium frames are lightweight so they make it easy to move the pop-up gazebo around and they also don't rust. Powder-coated steel is remarkably strong and sturdy whilst being more resistant to chipping, fading and wear than other finishes thanks to the powder coating.
Size
Both the capacity and weight of the gazebo will be determined by its size. For example a 3x3 heavy duty pop up gazebo will be ideal for a backyard BBQ or for some fun with close friends on the beach. A bigger gazebo will be harder to move but if you plan on keeping it in the same spot for a long period of time then you won't need to worry about that. The size of your pop up gazebo will also depend on the number and layout of tables (if any), heaters, cooling units, bar counters etc.
