Cold and Flu: Ways to Recover Faster

· health

As much as I like winter, I can't say I'm excited when it arrives because it arrives along with colds and the flu (well, for me at least!). It's easy to catch a cold when the days are colder, and it can catch you off guard which is why it's important to stay alert to the signs and nip it in the bud, if you can't prevent it.

I always get my supplies of cold medicine tablets, piling up on lozenges, antihistamines and decongestants from trusted online pharmacies beforehand so I don't have to run to the pharmacies around me during cold season and be surrounded by all the coughing and sneezing, instead I can start fighting the cold as soon as I get a runny nose or sore throat.

Likewise, it's a great option for anyone wanting to find great deals and buy from the comfort of their own home. Every cold is different, though, and while some may be over within a couple of days another could be more persistent which also depends on you.

In times of having a cold rest is essential, and as difficult as it may be to give yourself a break from work as well as your daily routine and just spend a day relaxing, it's simply a must so do whatever uplifts your mood because it's more than helpful with quicker recovery.

If it's the case with flu then by all means stay home for a week if needed and prevent spreading the virus to your colleagues or friends. Apart from equipping your own home pharmacy with the needed cold medicine tablets, it's advisable to cut down on the daily stress you're experiencing too; as challenging as it may be it's an important step considering stress slows the immune system needed to help you fight the cold or flu.

Don't forget to take your daily fluids, preferably sticking to water! Staying hydrated helps with the recovery further and is of essence when you're dealing with a clogged nose and mucus, allowing you to blow it out easily or cough it out and prevent it from stealing your sleep - remember, you need to catch all the z's!

Hot liquids like tea are a great solution for annoying coughs, more so when they're combined with honey as it's ideal for beating the fatigue too. Oh, and you know how mum and grandma rely on chicken soup as the all-time cold and flu medicine? Well guess what, they're right, it's perfect for calming the inflammation which means it should be part of your menu when you're feeling under the weather!
