Working in a warehouse involves much less heavy lifting than most people would assume. While you still have more than your share of item organization that you have to do, as well as placing and taking items off of shelves, the majority of your work time will probably be spent pushing a trolley around. Now, even though when I said trolley you probably thought of the heavy duty four-wheeled variety that are needed for the more cumbersome types of items, the truth is that there are many types of trolleys. Obviously since there are different types of items that most warehouses are equipped to store, there will also be a need for trolleys that handle the smaller items as well, and there are quite a few useful ones.
In any warehouse picking trolley is the most useful way of easily collecting a specified quantity of certain items before they need to be shipped. Depending on the items that the warehouse picking trolley needs to be used to transport, it can come in a wide variety of different sizes and constructions. Certain types of these trolleys come with a wire mesh cage design that you see on a lot of the heavy duty models, while others have a built in a plastic tub, or multiple tubs in order to more easily sort the items within. Despite the way they look, and the tubs they may or may not be equipped with, these trolleys can actually handle pretty heavy loads.
Another commonly used variety of trolley are the 2 or 3 tier ones. Their design includes four wheels, a durable frame, and at least two platforms on which an assortment of different items can be placed. The two tier trolleys have a bit more space and can store items that are a bit larger than what their three tier counterparts can fit into the narrower space between their platforms. On the other hand, if you are transporting products that aren't particularly large or take up virtually no space, you can much more easily carry and sort them by using a three tier trolley.
The final type of small trolley that any warehouse should get is the small two wheeled variety, which is also called a hand truck. These have a very small platform on the bottom, but a very large back frame on which the handles that you use to push it are placed. This particular trolley doesn't use the platform for more than simply holding the items you are transporting in place while you push them by leaning the trolley at a 45 degree angle to balance them on the back frame.
