Lots of sun, lots of laughs, lots of talks, lots of food, lots of drinks...that's how I imagine my weekends. Fun and nothing more than fun on my easy-breezy weekend picnics with friends. I don't know about you, but for me there's something special about having picnics outdoors. I simply love the whole picnic food and drink preparation procedure, packing the picnic basket and finally sitting on that soft and cosy picnic blanket while enjoying the laughs and talks with my dearest.
Of course, I love going to the beach as well, but until we get there, I won't miss a chance to go out on a picnic.
However, packing for a picnic is not that easy unless you are having one in your own backyard, because let's face it, forgetting something is in our nature (chuckles). To make your picnic pleasant and without worries, we have prepared for you a list of the things that will make your picnic enjoyable.
Picnic Blanket
A real picnic is the one when you are sitting on the ground, feeling the grass cuddles underneath you, which is why you shouldn't forget about a picnic blanket. In fact, picnic blankets are a real life saviour, and when I'm thinking about those sunny and cosy picnics laying on a blanket, I imagine nothing more than a red checked blanket. When shopping for picnic blankets make sure you choose a thick one (polyester is preferred because of its durability) if possible with waterproof underside to block out any ground dampness.
Extra Glasses
Usually, all picnic baskets include two wine glasses which is ideal if going on a romantic picnic with your loved one, but what about when going with friends?! Packing some extra glasses would be perfect so all of you could enjoy a nice glass of wine or your favourite lemonade or ice tea.
Paper Towels & Wet Wipes
It may seem obvious, but forgetting the paper towels and wet wipes are the things I forget the most. Be it eating some snacks or enjoying in the tastiness of the freshly prepared sandwiches, wet wipes and paper towels are a must, especially when it comes to unwanted spills. Wipe it with a wet wipe and dry it a little with a paper towel and your done. Clean hands, clean you!
Snacks
If you plan to spend almost all day camping and picnicking, chips or crackers should also find a place in your picnic basket. They do not weight a lot and are packed in their own bags, which means that you shouldn't have to worry about creating a mess in the basket.
Once you have prepared the food, pack all the other aforementioned things and you are ready for picnicking and having fun.
